Studio Skills:


• Conceptualize, design and build copper, brass and steel sculptures using traditional metalsmithing

  and blacksmithing techniques.

• Model building in clay, steel wire and paper to work out design concepts in 3D.

• Build 3D renderings of sculptural concepts in Strata 3D.

• Work with hand and mechanical wood working tools.

• Carve and shape stone using chisels, files, air hammers and sand paper.

• Cast silver and gold in a metals studio.

• Cast bronze, aluminum, and iron in a foundry using green sand and shell.   

• Cast concrete and make plaster molds.

• Extensive experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Strata 3D and Indesign.

• Home building experience, including framing, wiring, pouring foundations and setting windows and doors.

• Draw illustrations for design projects to communicate scale, color and proportion.

• Paint portraits and abstracts using oils and water color.

• Sketch using charcoal, graphite, colored pencils and pastels.

• Experience organizing and hanging art shows at the Kansas State Student Union Art Gallery

   to help strengthen their knowledge of the program and design skills.

Industry Experience:


Graphic's coordinator, 1997-present

Huhtamaki Packaging Co. in De Soto, Kan.

The Finish-based company is a global provider of packaging for food and non-food products.

• Work with customers to design graphics for ice cream containers and other packaging.

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that they print properly and on schedule.

• Create three-dimensional computer renderings of packaging concepts for potential customers.

• Train coworkers to use three-dimensional rendering software.

• Maintain individual Macintosh work station, trouble shooting problems and handling program installation.

• Assist with server maintenance for graphic's department.
